British Sixpence coin from 1939, featuring King George VI.  Here's more information about this coin: Monarch and Era: The coin was minted during the reign of King George VI (1936-1952), specifically in 1939. Denomination and Value: It is a Sixpence, a pre-decimal British coin, equivalent to 6 old pennies or half a shilling. After decimalization in 1971, its value became 2½ new pence, and it was demonetized in 1980. Composition: Sixpences minted between 1920 and 1946, including the 1939 issue, were made from 50% silver. Design: The obverse (front) typically features the portrait of King George VI. The reverse (back) of this specific design for George VI Sixpences minted before 1949 features a crowned Royal Cypher (GRI for Georgius Rex Imperator) dividing the date, with the inscription "FID DEF IND IMP" above and "SIXPENCE" below. Cultural Significance: The sixpence, also affectionately known as a "tanner," was a popular coin in British history and is associated with various traditions, including being slipped into a bride's shoe for good luck or stirred into Christmas puddings.

Consumer protection laws do not apply to your purchases from other consumers. More specifically, the right to cancel (section 29(1) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) and the right to reject (section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act) does not apply. Buyer’s rights are significantly reduced when a sale is carried out between two individuals. More specifically, the following sections of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 do not apply: goods to be of satisfactory quality (section 9 of the Consumer Rights Act) and fit for a particular purpose (section 10 of the Consumer Rights Act). Goods from private sellers do not have to be fault-free and if defects or marks were clearly mentioned by the seller or are visible in the seller’s photograph, then you do not have a case against the seller. However, if the seller’s goods do not match the description, you have the right to ask for a refund or compensation. Every purchase you make using the ‘Buy now’ button is covered by our Buyer Protection service.
