A vintage Record No.18 pipe wrench. As the name suggests, they are designed for gripping and turning pipes and pipe fittings. They are also referred to as Monkey wrenches, but despite the name, please do not use on monkey's! The Stillson pipe wrench was invented by Daniel C. Stillson in 1869 and its design has remained largely unchanged over the past 150+ years due to its effectiveness. This particular piece would have been my grandad's or even his dad before him, which dates it to early-mid 20th century. They were both very keen builders and DIY enthusiasts but unfortunately that interest hasn't filtered its way down to me. I have now inherited such a vast number of tools that I need to move some on. There are some age related marks and signs of use as you'd expect, but it was made in a time where tools were built to last and so it still has plenty of life in it. Hopefully it can go to a new home where it will be used and appreciated, rather than just sitting in the shed. Overall length is 16.5 inches (42cm) Please see photos for further description.

Consumer protection laws do not apply to your purchases from other consumers. More specifically, the right to cancel (section 29(1) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) and the right to reject (section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act) does not apply. Buyer’s rights are significantly reduced when a sale is carried out between two individuals. More specifically, the following sections of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 do not apply: goods to be of satisfactory quality (section 9 of the Consumer Rights Act) and fit for a particular purpose (section 10 of the Consumer Rights Act). Goods from private sellers do not have to be fault-free and if defects or marks were clearly mentioned by the seller or are visible in the seller’s photograph, then you do not have a case against the seller. However, if the seller’s goods do not match the description, you have the right to ask for a refund or compensation. Every purchase you make using the ‘Buy now’ button is covered by our Buyer Protection service.
