Le Mayflower est un navire marchand anglais connu pour avoir transporté les Pères pèlerins d'Angleterre vers le Nouveau Monde en 1620. Les pèlerins, un groupe de puritains anglais, cherchaient une nouvelle vie en Amérique du Nord. Le voyage a duré plus de deux mois et le navire a finalement accosté à Provincetown, Cape Cod, le 21 novembre 1620. La maquette est souvent considérée comme un hommage à ce voyage fondateur et un symbole de courage.
