Cette soupière fleurie a été produite par la faïencerie de Sarreguemines. L’histoire de cette entreprise commence en 1790, lorsque Nicolas-Henri Jacobi fonde une manufacture, qui sera reprise vers 1800 par Paul Utzschneider. La faïencerie rencontre alors un grand succès, notamment auprès de Napoléon 1er. Quelques années plus tard, Alexandre de Geiger, le gendre de Paul Utzschneider, rejoint la manufacture et participe à sa modernisation. Dans les années 1870, la direction de l’entreprise est confiée à son fils, qui fait alors construire deux nouvelles usines, l’une à Digoin et l’autre à Vitry-le-françois. Un siècle plus tard, la faïencerie est rachetée par le groupe Lunéville-Badonviller-Saint-Clément, avant de fermer définitivement en 2007.
