Making an offer (suggesting a different price)

The Make an offer feature lets buyers bargain for a deal on their favourite items. Sellers can also offer potential buyers a lower price to encourage them to buy an item faster.

You can negotiate the price of an item by pressing the “Make an offer” button on the listing or in a conversation with the seller.

1. Press Make an offer on the item’s listing page – OR – press Ask seller to start a conversation, then press Make an offer in the conversation screen
2. Choose the price you’d like to offer for the item, up to 40% less than the original cost
3. Press Offer. The seller will review your offer and accept or reject it
4. If the seller accepts the offer, press Buy now in the conversation screen to finish buying the item

• If the seller doesn’t agree to your offer, they can also make a counteroffer
• Offers aren’t binding. Even if the seller accepts your offer, the item will still be available to other members until you press “Buy now” to complete the sale
• You aren’t obligated to buy the item, even if the seller accepts your offer

When a potential buyer starts a conversation on one of your listings, you can offer them a lower price for the item or negotiate on an offer they’ve made.

1. Press Make an offer in the conversation screen
2. Choose a new price for the item, up to 40% less than the original cost
3. Press Send to make the offer available to the buyer. The new price will only be visible to them (other prospective buyers will still see the original price)

You can decline the buyer’s offer in the conversation screen and offer a different price by pressing “Make an offer”.

• Other members can still make offers or purchase the item until the member you’re negotiating with presses “Buy now”
• Offers aren’t binding. Prospective buyers aren’t obligated to buy the item, even if you send them an offer

• Buyers can send up to 25 offers per day. There are no limits on the number of seller offers you can make
• Offers only apply to the item itself. You can’t offer or request a lower price for things like postage or fees
