Electronics Verification service for buyers

Verification is carried out by a team of experts who: 

• Test if the hardware and software of the device is fully functional
• Verify the authenticity of the device
• Verify that the condition of the device matches the listing
• Verify that the attributes of the listing match the device

A listing will show the Electronics Verification banner if the device is eligible for verification.

Certain device models are eligible for verification in these Electronics categories:

• Mobile phones
• Tablets
• Games consoles 

The following accessories will also be verified if they’re sent in the order: 

• For mobile phones: any styluses
• For tablets: any styluses and/or detachable keyboards
• For consoles: one controller, any power supplies, VR headsets, steering wheels, motion controllers and/or a TV dock (Nintendo Switch)

If any other accessories (such as cables, stands, or headphones) are included in the order, these won’t be tested but will be forwarded on to the buyer together with the main item.

Here’s an overview of how the Electronics Verification service works:

1. As a buyer, you choose to purchase the Electronics Verification service with an item during checkout
2. The seller gets a prepaid label or code to ship the parcel to the verification hub
3. When the parcel arrives at the verification hub, our experts verify the item within 1–2 business days
4. If the item is verified successfully, the parcel will be sent to you. For mobile phones, a detailed verification report will be available in your account.
5. Once the parcel is delivered, you can check if everything is OK with the item

To ensure the item is successfully routed to the verification hub, this service is only available when buying an item sent with an integrated shipping option on Vinted. 

The parcel can be tracked throughout delivery, including when it’s at the verification hub. The total delivery time from seller to buyer can take up to 10 business days after the seller sends the order. 

Note that only one item can be verified at a time, so the service can’t be used for a bundle of multiple items. 

For mobile phones, both buyers and sellers get a detailed verification report (in the app and by email). For other electronics, we’ll simply confirm the result without a full report.

• If the device passes verification, the verification team will factory reset the device before shipping it to the buyer. For mobile phones and tablets, devices are fully reset and any data wiped. For consoles, the console is factory reset while keeping games on the device when the option is available.
• If the device doesn’t pass verification, it’ll be shipped back to the seller and we’ll give a full refund to the buyer. Both parties will be notified of the reason the device failed verification.

Electronics Verification may be included at no extra cost for some eligible orders. Otherwise, it can be added at checkout for £5 per item. The fee includes both the cost of verification and shipping from the seller to the verification hub.

The verification service is available for eligible items sold within the United Kingdom. 

Note that if a sealed item is purchased, any existing warranty for it may be affected when it’s opened during the service. Screen protectors may be removed to check the device’s screen condition and can’t be reapplied or returned. We don't compensate for voided warranties or any loss of value resulting from unsealed packaging.
