What is HMRC reporting?
HMRC reporting is a requirement for online marketplaces, including Vinted.
It isn’t a tax, and it doesn’t change any tax laws. It mainly helps the relevant authorities know about businesses and people selling on online marketplaces. Most Vinted sellers aren't businesses, but they still need to submit a pre-filled form.
NoteSelling personal items on Vinted is generally not taxed.
Will I have to prove I made no profit?
It’s extremely unlikely, as generally, only business sellers are likely to have to prove anything. Check our tax rules for the UK page for tips about providing proof.
Who has to submit a form?
Everyone who makes at least 30 sales or earns over €2,000 (~£1,700) on online marketplaces like Vinted in a calendar year.
We’ll let you know if you meet the requirements. If you don’t hear from us, you don’t have to do anything. What happens after I submit the form?
Vinted sends the information of everyone who submitted a form to the relevant authorities in January of the following year. You’ll get a copy too, so you’ll know exactly what we sent.
All data is encrypted and secure, and we don’t use it for anything else. Learn more in our Privacy Policy. When do I have to submit the form by?
