Welcome to JC Opal. Enjoy reading my informative ‘About’. Any questions regarding the following information, then please don’t hesitate to send me a message. Care for your ‘Ethiopian’ opal in 5 easy steps. The link below is NOT for sales purposes, and merely just as a helpful guide. https://veatge.com/blogs/news/how-to-care-for-ethiopian-opal-jewelry-in-5-easy-steps?srsltid=AfmBOopmb7U4bL9zHzdsipv8N1TLwewJAABbwKx-K9C7BcBRvmQHRiW6 The four pronged gem TOOL i use to display and hold the pieces whilst I photograph them, may look like a ring setting up close, but please do not assume, (as previous customers have) as I would not want you to be unhappy when your item arrives, so please study the photos and read the description thoroughly, thank you.😊 Bit it of housekeeping and a polite notice :- Please could you kindly read through the description, and study the photographs of the item(s) i have forsale in depth before purchasing, so you get a complete idea of the DIMENSIONS and the WEIGHT of the particular stone(s) you wish to purchase. (please kindly look at a 5p piece for reference). I’ll be happy to receive ALL queries or questions, so please don’t hesitate to drop me a message before purchasing, as i want my buyer(s) to be happy with their purchase(s). :Lapidarist & Opal Jeweller: Located in The Royal Town Of Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. Drop me a message for sales details & lapidary advice: • Opal • Crystals • Shell • Pendants • Bracelets • Necklaces • Literature • Gold • Charms • Lapidary is one of the most skilful jobs in the creation of fine jewellery and gem stones. I use a selection of rotary tools (dremel) and diamond sintered burs, (bits) to clean, shape, cut and pre-polish my materials. I adore everything about opal. There’s no better feeling than turning a rough rock into a potentially precious gem stone, that sparkles like no other. Pliney the elder was a Roman philosopher in the first century A.D. This is his quote below. regarding opal "For in them you shall see the living fire of the ruby, the glorious purple of the amethyst, the sea-green of the emerald, all glittering together in an incredible mixture of light." The Roman Elder Pliny Ist Century AD. As well as handcrafting beautiful pieces of opal jewellery myself, I reach out to the rest of the opal world, and purchase finely cut and polished stones from the following locations :- Bangkok, Thailand. Pimang & Jakarta Malaysia. Jaipur, India. Mermaid Beach & Gold Coast in QLD, Australia. I also purchase rough and cut opal from a trusted seller from a well-known Internet shopping platform. Please don’t hesitate to drop me a message if you’d like some advice in getting yourself a little set up together, so you’re able to cut ironstone/sandstone, potch and eventually your very own opal stone. If someone would like me to take a look at an opal stone which they believe not to be real or artificial, then please don’t hesitate to drop me a message. Even with my short time in the opal trade, I can definitely spot a fake, as you start to get to notice the different patterns from different states in Australia’s huge opal story. Good way to check if you think you’re opal may be fake, is use a magnifying glass, as most opal, ‘real’ opal stones always have small inclusions, which may come in the form of a small dot of sand or some other natural indication that the stone is from the earth. I’m now able to offer a personal service, so if you wish to find a certain type of opal for a piece of jewellery, then please don’t hesitate to drop me a message. I can also repolish a piece of opal jewellery you may have been left from a relative, or if a piece of jewellery is missing a stone, I can replace that and make that piece of jewellery wearable again. I’ve previously replaced a stone in a clients grandmothers 108 year old gold and opal ring, which was truly an honour. Final thought……if it’s cheap and looks too good to be true, then it’s probably not opal, or it’s synthetic opal. Always ask that important question before purchasing. I’m happy to take reasonable offers from returning customers, or even new customers sometimes, depending on how you’ve reached out to me with a question or a query regarding your situation and your passion for the queen of gems…OPAL 😍….but please, can you kindly not insult my items with a silly offer (please aim for a 5% reduction) Remember, opal is a a wonder of nature, and is tens of millions of years old. 😉💎🌈🦕🪨 Thanks for your time.
