2-franc coin from Switzerland, minted in 1968. The coin is made of copper-nickel and replaced the silver 2-franc coins that were minted from 1874 to 1967. The switch from silver to copper-nickel was made in 1968 due to the rising price of silver, which caused the melt value of the silver coins to exceed their face value.
